Pearl – A journey into the heart of Bangalore.
“China Pearl”
is the brain child of our Master Chef/Owner
Mr. Tony Lu who used to run the Lonely Planet
recommended “Abba Chinese Banquet”
in Shillong, which specialized in authentic
Hakka Chinese food. The need to expand and
discover new opportunities brought him to
Bangalore in the year 2001. The city of
Bangalore received him with open arms in
the form of business, new friends and well
wishers. He was so impressed with the city
that he and his family decided to shift
base entirely from Shillong to Bangalore. |

China Pearl started off as a small
neighborhood restaurant in late 2001
in Koramangala, seating a maximum
of only twenty people at a time. The
capacity of the restaurant was not
an issue because it was the philosophy
of serving ‘good food’
and ‘serving it well’
in a hygienic environment that was
the top priority. The authentic Chinese
food and friendly personalized service
soon gained guests from Koramangala
to all over Bangalore, each leading
to another by the word of mouth alone.
It was soon featured in Times of India
(Bangalore Times) and The Indian Express,
favored as a ‘best value’
restaurant. |

2002 saw the need to cater to the growing clientele
and finally took shape around August –September
when China Pearl geared up for an “Upgrade".
The
current location (which is still in Koramangala)
is a spacious dining hall seating up to eighty people
at a time, dishing out some of the finest Chinese
food innovations by Tony Lu.
With the support and love of the
people, we look into the future with great optimism
and aim to be a household name in Chinese food
in Bangalore. This is also an opportunity to thank
each and everyone who has tasted and liked our
food and for supporting us to look ahead in bringing
you the best Chinese food experience.
